Backus’ cadaver was found a portion of a mile north of where she was most recently seen, “in a thickly forested stream seepage district,” the Nevada Region Sheriff’s Office expressed in a Facebook post-Friday. As per the sheriff’s office, there “isn’t anything odd” about her passing so far, and the reason for death is as yet hazy. The coroner’s office will attempt a broad examination, including a dissection.

Ashley Bjorklund, Backus’ auntie, said in a progression of Facebook postings this week that her niece went out at 10:30 p.m. nearby time Wednesday, wearing just nightgown and no shoes. Backus was remaining with a companion when she disappeared.
